ALL HANDS ON DECK

On ‘All Hands Day’, organized regularly, all employees participate in the manufacturing activities. Managers and officers are allocated specific areas of skilled or semi-skilled work and supervised by the skilled workforce. This ensures that every individual can understand and comprehend the various activities at the factory and suggest effective ways of reducing wastage, increasing productivity, and improving the uncompromising safety standards.

Cooking Competition

Every six months, a cooking competition is organised where employees from various facets participate and create delicious products basis the brief given. This competition brings out the best in each member through their amazing display of creativity, innovation, and team spirit. The kitchen is full of enthusiastic wonder-chefs working together to present a wide range of gourmet dishes made from our own Tasty Bite® products. The event nurtures a sense of camaraderie among the employees of all backgrounds.

Women Empowerment refers to increasing and improving the social, economic, political, and legal strength of women, to ensure equal-right to women, and to make them confident enough to claim their rights. Tasty Bite encourages each woman employee to empower themselves and to:

  • freely live their life with a sense of self-worth, respect and dignity
  • have complete control of their life, both within and outside of their home and workplace
  • to make their own choices and decisions
  • have equal social status in the society
  • have equal rights for social and economic justice
  • determine financial and economic choices
  • get equal opportunity for education
  • get equal employment opportunity without any gender bias
  • get safe and comfortable working environment
  • Tasty Bite celebrates “International Women’s Day” in March and conducts various programs/street plays to create awareness towards the above values & rights of women. Each woman irrespective of their position in the organization is felicitated & respected for their achievements
  • Women are encouraged to take greater responsibility in the company; evident from the fact that the number of women employees continues to grow with each passing year. Women managers now hold several key executive positions in the organization. In terms of overall manpower strength including contractual and permanent staff in factory, the male to female ratio is almost 1:1
  • Women are encouraged to participate in the Workers’ Union and a tradition of having about 12% women in the Union Committee has been set. This is against the backdrop of a ‘all male’ workers’ union committee that existed when the union was originally formed
  • 'NIL' complaint received on Harassment at Workplace
  • Higher number of contractual women workers aspire for getting permanent jobs as machine operators. Out of the total contractual workmen, 55% of women work on shop floor in all 3 shifts
  • Our policy on women empowerment has encouraged local women to come for night shift (12:00 am to 07:00 am) in spite of socially reserved community. Almost 200 ladies (contractual as well as permanent) are working fearlessly in the third shift thereby boosting the rate of productivity

“At Tasty Bite, we have always aimed to create an environment where women employees are respected, feel safe and can thrive and grow. It starts with the board that has a strong women representation in the board and extends all the way to various levels within the company. This recognition encourages to do a lot more to improve our gender diversity, continue expansion of inclusive and women-friendly policies and make a meaningful impact in this extremely important area” Says Abhijit Upadhye, Managing Director

Management Leadership Program
(MLP)

Managers discover and develop their talents to make a better professional contribution to the company or enhance their personal growth. This program reinforces the belief that “We are ordinary people capable of extraordinary performance.” The workshop-based sessions include fun-filled games, out-of-the-box experiences, and relevance of continuous and consistent execution to achieve the strategies laid out. It is also a forum for finalizing annual and long-term business plans. .

Workers Leadership Training Program

This initiative recognizes the leadership qualities of our workers and encourages them to come forward & lead with example. Experts from various industries including Union Leaders are invited to speak about their exemplary career journeys. The program has been initiated into a worker’s ‘Sudhar Group’ in factory. These groups identify and resolve the day to day problems and bring improvement in the system thereby taking the company to greater heights. This initiative has motivated an unionized worker to work as a responsible management professional. It has gathered huge enthusiasm among the workers as they have been given a platform where their ideas can be heard and put forth in front of the Managing Director.

Motivational Programs

Programs like Essence of Mars, Associate Concepts, Shop Floor Leadership, Personal Effectiveness at Work, Strive for Excellence etc. form a crucial part of our training programs aimed at keeping our employees motivated and abreast with the company’s philosophy & cultural values.

Knowledge @Tasty Bite

We conduct a series of programs where we encourage managers to read a book on any topic such as a new emerging technology, HR practice, or even market trend. This encourages learning and sharing at a continuous level within the organization. Insightful books like “One Minute Manager” were distributed to shop floor executives, “Lean In" by Sheryl Sandberg to young women employees; “Hit Refresh" by Satya Nadella, and “The Goal" by Eliyahu M. Goldratt to all Senior Managers.

Online Learning Series

At the outset of Covid pandemic, most of the staff were on forced quarantine at their respective homes. During such constrained times, we ensured a disruption-free learning environment by conducting various online training & knowledge-sharing sessions. These sessions not only keep our employees motivated, but also helps in honing their skills in the relevant interest areas.

Associates were also encouraged to subscribe to company sponsored Hobby.Fit online courses to learn new hobbies such as creative writing, sketching, cooking, music etc.
